Mixed references of Rails 4 and Rails 3 (suggestion)

Reported by Oinak | May 3rd, 2013 @ 08:45 AM

On page 1: Section 1.1 Bundler

Bundler² is not a technology that is specific to Rails 4, but it is the preferred way to manage your application’s gem dependencies. Applications generated with Rails 4 use Bundler automatically, and you should not need to install the bundler gem separately since it’s a dependency of Rails 3 itself.

On other parts of the book when it talks about things that changed during or started in Rails 3, it says since 3.x or similar. Here it is not clear that it is intentional.

Suggested alternative: and you should not need to install the bundler gem separately as it’s a dependency of Rails itself since version 3.
